Dear Parents/carers,

Thank you for choosing to send your child to Boomerang Kids. We hope that you will both enjoy the time you spend here with us. We work here as a team, so if you have any  problems, please feel free to talk to your child's key-person, or any other member of staff who will try to help.

We colour code our key-person groups, Blue and Yellow for our younger, new entrants and Red, Green and for the older ones.  As soon as your child joins us, they will be given a group colour and be allocated a key-person. Your child's key-person will document their progress, which you are welcome to look at, please ask. They will also keep some work to put into their special workbook. This will be presented to you at the end of their time here with us.

We work closely with the City Early Years & Childcare Partnership (CEYCP) who advise the pre-school of any relevant training courses. All the staff here are encouraged to attend these courses.

We are regulated by OFSTED and the children in their key-worker groups follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework leading towards the "Early Learning Goals" taken from the Q.C.A. curriculum.

The six categories are:- 
1) personal, social and emotional
2) language, literacy and communication
3) problem solving, reasoning and numeracy.
4) creative
5) physical
6) knowledge and understanding of the world.

These are broken down into achievable goals that each child can reach at their own pace. They start here with us and follow them through to the end of their reception year at school

From time to time child-care students may come to Boomerang Kids on a work placement. If your child is chosen to become part of the student training programme, we will ask you to sign a consent form.

Each child comes to us as an individual. Some children take longer to get used to pre-school life than others, so please don't worry if your child is one of them! We anticipate this happening and are well prepared for it, please be assured, it rarely lasts very long!
