Boomerang Kids is registered with OFSTED to have 42 children in attendance, we ensure that at least 50% qualified staff are at each session. Infact ALL of our staff either hold or are working towards qualifications.
Please ask if you are interested in any additional sessions as places are limited and have to be booked in advance.
Our term and holiday dates tend to run in line with those laid out by Brighton & Hove council. We offer childcare throughout the holidays and if you require this please fill in a ‘year round’ slip and you will be automatically booked in for all breaks, including half terms, with the exception of the 2 week Christmas holiday, offering exceptional year-round care for your child. Please note that if you opt for year round care this will run for a whole year ( ie cannnot opt out mid year).
A fire drill is carried out every half term, this is documented in the attendance register.
We have a Health Information File, containing general information about some of the more common childhood ailments available, please ask if you would like to see it.
Notices Please be aware of our notice board by the front door, it’s a good way of getting information out to parents quickly within the group. Anything urgent will normally be included in our newsletter, or in a separate note home. Please take the time to read these productions, they contain vital information for the smooth running of the Pre-school!!
Uniform and Clothing You will have been given a T-shirt with the pre-school logo at your child's induction, we ask that this be worn to Pre-school whenever possible. It makes all the children easily identifiable, particularly on outings, it also means that you won’t have to worry about ruining their other clothes because although aprons are used here, there will still be times when your child might get a little bit messy (sometimes a big bit messy!).
Further T-shirts are available to buy, as are sweatshirts, also with the pre-school logo. Please remember that these T-shirts are all the same, so must be clearly marked with your child's name, as should all their other clothing and belongings.
We have a selection of donated clothes, which we use to change children into should they get very messy or wet. Please make sure these are washed and returned as soon as possible – we go through a LOT of clothes – particularly with the new little ones!
Washing & toilet facilities At both groups, there is hot and cold running water and we provide hand soap and paper towels. All the children are encouraged to use the toilet and wash their hands throughout the day, especially before snack and at lunch time. The children have access to the toilet at any other time they may need to go!
