Once a place has been offered, the journey starts by us offering a Home Visit, to give us the opportunity to meet you and your child in your own home environment, (this will be a senior member of staff and the Key Person). We then arrange two further visits to the setting, allowing you and your child to meet your child’s other Key Person and other members of staff team and to look around the setting. The day to day routine of the setting will be explained and you will be given your Welcome Pack, if not already given to you at the home visit.
We have 3 areas of the building that we use for this age group (2-4 years). The Owls, Foxes, Squirrels, Badgers and Hedgehogs and in each group we have family grouping, this means in each group there is a mixture of 2 year old, 3 year old and 4 year old children, with at least 2 Key Persons for each group.
First days can be daunting for even the most outgoing children. We hope that after a few weeks both you and your child will be familiar enough with the routine and the pre-school life that you feel reassured in the knowledge that they have a welcoming safe and stimulating environment to come and play and make friends in.
We promote a natural and stimulating environment both inside and outside, allowing the children the time to explore the world around them at their own pace. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and your child’s Key Persons will plan individual activities, following your child’s interest and using the EYFS curriculum guidelines. Our aim is to achieve a balance between free, creative and structured activities designed to encourage language, confidence and independence and most importantly to have FUN!.
